Equine Therapy
At June's Second Chance Ranch Inc., we are dedicated to stepping up our efforts in addressing the epidemic of trauma based illnesses, especially in our veteran population to help decrease service member suicide. There are very few services for veterans and everyday people suffering from these ailments. JSCR developed our program by combining ground work therapy, therapeutic riding and widely used holistic approaches to tackle mental health issues, and common symptoms service members suffer from. With the support of our amazing community we have developed a therapeutic program to help those suffering from PTSD and other trauma related symptoms.
All services we provide are free for active and retired military, police, fire and EMT.
If you are not a retired or active service member we ask for a $50 donation for an equine therapy session!

Trilby
Trilby is a 17 year old mare (female) Arabian horse. She is so sweet, gentle and LOVES people and truly enjoys the attention and love she gets during therapy sessions. Trilby is a wonderful therapy horse and her calm and sweet demeanor enables our participants to quickly form a bond with her. She loves being groomed and often falls asleep, she loves treats and attention from people and is an easy rider and loves showing off her grace and poise in the round pen!
Charlie
Charlie is also 17 years old and a quarter horse mix. Charlie was a rescue and bailed off of a slaughter truck the day before he was going to be shipped off to Mexico for horse meat, back in February 2023. He was very sick, skinny, and suffering from a number of neglect health issues that have since been addressed and healed thanks to our generous donors. He is such a sweet boy and absolutely LOVES people and attention. He quickly forms bonds with our volunteers and loves being part of our program. He loves his treats and meeting new people, and loves being brushed, scratched and loved on. We don't know much about Charlies' past, but we know he has been through a lot, and the service members can really relate to him that way. Charlie has come so far and he is now being used in our riding therapy program weekly :)
